MAC Unsung Heroes: Prep + Prime Fix+ - Makeup and Beauty Blog
I am totally fixated on MAC Fix+, and the obsession is so real that I can't even effigy out how many bottles I've gone through in my life.
Ten? Xx??
No, it'due south gotta exist more than that… I usually go a new bottle nigh every ii or iii months.
I know that I talk about Gear up+ a lot, but I utilize it every single solar day (I even bring a small canteen on trips).
Also known as MAC Prep + Prime Prepare+, it's a refreshing $22 mist in the MAC skincare line that you spray on bare skin or other products to moisturize and prepare your makeup to aid it last longer. It contains water packed with vitamins and minerals and infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile and cucumber. Merely spray information technology directly on your confront for a subtle sheen.
I normally use it right when I start applying my makeup to moisturize my pare, and then again when I finish to help my face products terminal longer.
Starting when I'm bare-faced, before I've put anything else on, I spray Fix+ all over my face, where it adds a light layer of moisture and creates a wet surface upon which to more than hands blend foundations, tinted moisturizers and BB creams. The finish issue but looks more natural and "lived in" (particularly if yous tend to exist heavy-handed with your product application).
After finishing my makeup, when I'm all washed with my eyes, face up and lips, I spray some other misty layer all over my face to mellow out the powdery texture.
And at that place are also some other things you can do with Fix+, like using it to wet your eye brushes (it intensifies the shimmer and colour of pulverization eyeshadows), to amplify highlights on your cheekbones and to blend foundation.
Yup!
Fix+ also works great with BeautyBlenders for sheerer, more lifelike foundation. I'll dampen mine with water first, then mist information technology with Set up+ and use it to tap my foundation onto my skin.
And if yous don't have a BeautyBlender, no trouble! A kabuki castor misted with Fix+ works, too. Use information technology to buff out your foundation for a similar effect.
Sometimes I just like to spray Fix+ on my skin for the heck of it considering it's refreshing, and because I similar the low-cal green tea aroma.
Incidentally, MAC recently introduced Prepare+ in a few limited edition scents (shown in the flick at the superlative) that sold out in ii.five seconds, and they're a little difficult to find right now, just catch 1 if yous happen to encounter it at a counter. I retrieve they're all wonderful.
Somehow, Fix+ doesn't make my makeup blotchy or disrupt my face powder, blush, etc. I don't how or why it works, but information technology's great. The spray nozzle is pretty fantastic, and so maybe that'south one of the reasons. The mist is incredibly even and fine, so you don't end up with big drops of wet production on your face. Plus, yous tin can lock the nozzle to prevent accidents while traveling, which is genius.
If you'd like to give it a try, get for it! Set+ is available now in the MAC permanent collection (information technology's $22 for a 3.iv-oz. bottle).
